For the past several years, I have been selling at various festivals and craft shows all over the US and have found that the most economical framing has been and still is the 'copper and glass' frame. This also helps with the preservation of the labels, posters, photograph, post cards, old ads or any other valuable paper that you want to save. Just remember, this is extremely time consuming and looks way easier than it is. I have used Acid Free Mat Board and just regular glass. The copper is cut for me to the right width so that it will wrap correctly to help preserve the image..which could be an original ad, or an original fruit crate label...even the reproduction labels and Euro posters look fantastic with this framing. Overall, I have found, that this type of framing looks great in just about any type decor (well, maybe not Victorian!)...I have seen my framing in ultra Modern, classical Country, it is fabulous in a grouping, great for decorating kitchens, dens, student rooms, bars, any type of family room....and they make great gifts!! This is a very nice decorating idea! Now....where do you get all of this? The mat board: You can purchase at an artist store or maybe crafts store...I am not getting paid to suggest any one..so look in the phone book. The glass: This can be bought at a local glass company and they will cut this to your size..It is way more economical if you cut it yourself (it's not Rocket Science). Again, check your local art store/craft store. The copper: You can find some at the Stained glass places in your area. The hanger on the back: Over the years I have used a particular plastic self adhesive hanger which can not be bought at any store..there are similar ones..but they are not a good as the ones I am using. Solution: We sell the hangers! 10 hangers = $ 4.50 Postpaid 20 hangers = $ 7.00 Postpaid 50 hangers = $14.00 Postpaid Or:
Clip-Pity Strips for any size to 18" Canvas prints: 1 for $ 5 for $ Shipping included
Poster Hangers:
To save money in framing, we are selling 'CLIP-PITY' Strips...these strips are of plastic and are a very economical way to hang posters! You cut the length that you wish, place the poster on a flat surface, slide strips onto the top and bottom of the poster..slide the flat tab hanger onto the back and that's it! This is great for any poster, canvas or paper and uncurl the print.
